Thiksey Monastery
The most striking feature of the monastery is its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. Hemis
A small town to the southeast of Ladakh, Hemis is synonymous to Hemis Monastery. The high and largest majestic monastery has rich cultural heritage and it is believed that it was built in the 11th century. The monastery was later reconstructed by King SenggeNamgyal. Lamayuru
