2-Hemis Festival

It is the popular festival which is celebrated prominently in Leh-Ladakh. It takes place every year in the popular Hemis Monastery. According to the calendar of Tibet, the festival is celebrated on the tenth day of the lunar month and all the dates are only organized by head Lama. At the time of the festival, the locals get dressed in the colorful and bright traditional attire. The festival is must to attend if you are on the trip to Leh Ladakh.

3-Stok Palace Museum

The four-story palace which is of the royal family of Ladakh is situated at the short distances across the Indus River which is near to Leh. This was the official residence of the royal family of Ladakh which got constructed in 1814. More than 80 rooms can be seen here and only 5 of them are open for public use. 

4-Khardung La

Located at the altitude of 18,378 ft. above the level of the sea, this place makes you feel as if you are on the top of the world. This was believed to be the highest motor pass all over the world but the facts have proved that it is among the highest motor passes in India.

5-Sindhu Ghat

It is the banks of the river which is situated near the Shey Monastery in Leh. It is situated 10 km upstream from the Indus River; it gets originated from Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake in Tibet. The rocky terrains, mountains as well as rivers in this region are the sight to behold. Visit this place while on a trip to Leh Ladakh to experience the cultural sight.

6-Nubra Valley

8-Hemis Monastery

It is the wealthiest as well as biggest monastery in Ladakh. It stands on the western bank of Indus river. It also has the rich collection of ancient relics.

9-Lamayuru Monastery

The monastery is located inLadakh between the Kha-le-che and Bodhkharbu on a rocky mountain. It belongs to the red-hat sect of Buddhism and is the house of 150-160 Buddhist monks. 10-Likir Monastery

The monastery was founded in 11th century and consist of many shrines inside the complex. At present, the monastery is the house of around 120 Buddhist monks.

The valley forms the foundation of the Kargil district and is one of the beautiful destinations in Ladakh. It is situated in the northeastern foothills of Himalayan region. Tourists in large number throng to the place to spend their holidays.
